As we step into the Golden Jubilee Celebration Year of Zefirino, the 50th edition of reunion marks a historic milestone for the Department of Statistics, University of Kalyani. This special edition promises to be bigger and more inspiring than ever, featuring an exciting blend of tech fests, academic seminars, statistical competitions, and cultural events, with cash prizes worth thousands for participants to showcase their analytical brilliance and creativity.

With a proud legacy of five decades, Zefirino stands as a vibrant platform celebrating the annual reunion meet, and this Golden Jubilee edition of Alumni Reunion will honour that journey while fostering new ideas, collaborations, and unforgettable experiences — where numbers meet knowledge and tradition meets innovation.

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS

Established in 1973, the Department of Statistics has developed a strong reputation in postgraduate teaching and research in India, contributing significantly to academic and scientific advancement. With a strong theoretical foundation and practical training, the department produces skilled graduates who excel across industry, academia, and prestigious services such as the Indian Statistical Service and the Reserve Bank of India. In its early years, the department was guided by eminent scholars such as Prof. M. K. Gupta and Prof. A. M. Goon, whose mentorship helped shape its legacy of excellence.

UNIVERSITY OF KALYANI

Established in 1960, the University of Kalyani is a NAAC A++ accredited state-government administered teaching, affiliated, and research university located in the Nadia district of West Bengal. Offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the university is set in a unique environment that blends an urban academic atmosphere with the serenity of surrounding rural landscapes. Situated just 2 km from the eastern bank of the Ganges and about 50 km from Kolkata, the campus provides a tranquil and inspiring setting for learning and research.

HOW TO REACH US

The best route is to travel by train from Kolkata or Sealdah to Kalyani Ghoshpara Station via the Kalyani-Simanta Sealdah Local and then take a E-Rickshaw to the Departmentof Statistics within the University. Another convinient route maybe travelling to Kalyani Main Station by Local train and taking an Auto to the Department of Statistics, University of Kalyani.
